Baxter, Milo. [Photo] 1862-1865. Soldier in the 21st Michigan Infantry, Company I . From Cascade MI.

Carmichael, Neil. [Photo] 1865. Soldier Company I, 21st Michigan Infantry, transferred to Company B 14th Michigan Infantry.

Ellsworth John A., Saranac. Captain, 21st Inf., July 30, 1862. Resigned Nov. 20, 1862, and honorably discharged.

English, David H., Saranac. Entered service Aug. 5, 1862 as Sergeant, Company I, 21st Inf. Second Lt., Sept 1, 1864. Mustered out June 8, 1865, and honorably discharged.

Hunt, Herman, Hastings. First Lt. 21st Inf., July 30, 1862. Died of disease Dec. 16, 1862.

Johnson, Horace. [Photo] 1862-1865. Cascade. Company I, 21st Michigan Infantry Aug. 12 1862 at Cascade for 3 years age 31. Mustered Sept. 4 1862. Taken prisoner at Stone River Tenn. Dec. 31 1862. Discharged at Washington D.C. June 28 1865.

King, George D. [Photo] 1862-1863. Boston. Enlisted in Company I, 21st Michigan Infantry Aug. 11 1862 at Campbell for 3 years age 32. Mustered Sept. 4 1862. Discharged at Louisville Ky. May 13 1863 on account of wounds received in action at Stone River Tenn. Dec. 31 1862.

Morse, Allen B., Ionia. Entered service July 30, 1861, as Sergeant, Company B, 16th Inf. First Lt. 21st Inf., Dec. 16, 1862. Adjutant., Feb. 3, 1863. Wounded in action at Mission Ridge, Tenn. Nov. 25, 1863, while on staff duty as Acting Ass't Adjutant. Gen., losing left arm. Resigned Sept. 1, 1864, and honorably discharged.

Salyer, William H. also spelled Slayer enlisted in Company I, 21st Michigan Infantry March 2, 1865 at Grand Rapids, Mi for 1 year of service at age 17. He reached the regiment at Goldsboro, Nc on April 9, 1865. For some unspecified reason he was sent home and admitted to Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan on July 17, 1865 and discharged from the service 11 days later on July 29, 1865. He is buried in Green cemetery at Ionia, Michigan.

Sisson, Foster. enlisted as Private in Company I, 21st Michigan at Ionia. Was wounded on March 19, 1865 in the first skirmish of the Battle of Bentonville. He died on March 31, 1865 at the federal hospital in Goldsboro, NC. He is buried at the Rahleigh National Cemetery.  Essay written by Mr. Stephen C. Sisson. Mr. Sisson an ancestor of Private Sisson.

Truax, James H., Saranac. Second Lt., 21st Inf., July 30, 1862. Captain, Dec. 18, 1862. Resigned Aug. 24, 1863, and honorably discharged.

Weimer, George, Saranac. Entered service Aug 5, 1862. Sergeant Company I, 21st Inf., -----. Second Lt., Dec. 16, 1862. First Lt. Feb., 3, 1863. Captain, Aug 24, 1863. Mustered out June 8, 1865, and honorably discharged.
